However, Maltese Culture Minister Jose Herrera said the tooth should be in a local museum and promised to “set the ball rolling” to get it back.

Except they aren’t precious. Megalodon teeth are exceptionally common and can be bought on amazon. I’ve purchased one in a tourist shop. They are found across the planet. I don’t see someone like this giving something rare over and it really depends on when it was acquired
