Former President Donald Trump commented on the GOP Ohio Senate primary earlier this month, describing Moreno as a"highly respected businessman from the GREAT STATE of OHIO" who"would not be easy to beat.""President Trump put us on a path to prosperity, but today, China’s buying our land, drugs pour through our borders while our tax dollars flow to foreign countries, and our jobs stream overseas," Moreno said.
Border security was a top subject for Moreno in 2022. Moreno is an immigrant who came from Colombia when he was 5 years old. So far, he is the second prominent Republican to dive into the race, following Republican state Sen.
