Aunque en su homicidio habrían participado dos presuntos miembros del grupo delictivo venezolano, en la investigación se determinó que el caso difería de la forma habitual de operar del Tren de Aragua, comentó el fiscal. Nunca se pidió un rescate, y el exmilitar fue asesinado pocas horas después de ser secuestrado.
