El director de ‘Old’ habla de la esperada cinta y de su trabajo con el mexicano Gael García Bernal

A partir de este fin de semana, M. Night Shyamalan, creador de títulos como “The Sixth Sense”, “Unbreakable” y “The Visit”, nos lleva de paseo a una paradisiaca playa caribeña, lo que tiene sentido cuando se considera que estamos en plena temporada veraniega, al menos en esta parte del mundo.

La premisa de la novela gráfica era un gran punto de partida para esta conversación sobre la existencia. Para mí, si hay una experiencia física con la que puede involucrarse la audiencia, y si eso me permite hablar de ciertos temas espirituales, esa es la combinación perfecta, y una que me permite hacer cosas complicadas sin dejar de lado esa misma experiencia. La novela gráfica ofrecía la oportunidad, y esa es una combinación inusual.

Me sentí muy tocado por la historia, y este reparto en particular era muy importante para mí; lo adoro. Perder incluso a uno de ellos por cuestiones de tiempo hubiera sido desolador para mí. Luché mucho por hacer la película en ese momento, y finalmente, eso hizo que se convirtiera en algo hermoso para todos nosotros, que se sintiera como algo único. Mis recuerdos sobre el rodaje son muy intensos; me sentí muy afortunado.
