Oakland-based restaurant will serve five varieties of Filipino spring rolls

After a successful pop-up run in honor of National Lumpia Day, the Lumpia Company will join the Local Kitchens micro food halls in Cupertino and Lafayette.

Five varieties of their Filipino spring rolls will be available for pickup and delivery seven days a week: Chicken Veggie Lumpia, made with ground chicken, cabbage, carrots, green beans and sprouts; Pork & Shrimp “Shanghai” Lumpia, made with ground pork, ground shrimp, water chestnuts, garlic and oyster sauce; the Bacon Cheeseburger Lumpia, filled with ground beef, smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, garlic and onions; and the classic Mama’s Veggie Lumpia, with cabbage, carrots, green beans and...

East Bay entrepreneur Alex Retodo founded the Lumpia Company in 2015 as a food truck in San Francisco, with traditional and contemporary recipes, and later opened an Oakland brick-and-mortar on 24th Street, which is currently serving four days a week. In 2019, rapper E-40 became a co-owner. “Growing up in Vallejo, a lot of my best friends were a part of the Filipino Community. I ate lumpia with the kids I grew up around, and it became one of my favorite dishes of all time.” E-40 said in the announcement.
