) expects passenger numbers to rise about 4% this year, its chief executive told a newspaper, playing down talk that public support for teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg might be curbing air travel.

“In comparison to last year, already a record year, we’re expecting passenger growth of about 4 percent, Swiss International Air Lines is also showing growth. The discussion of climate change is not leading to restraint with bookings. People want to fly.” He is frustrated that airlines are on the defensive over their contribution to climate-changing emissions.

Just wait till they build a bridge to Mallorca 😝. I use the train for most of my long trips, and plan to use the ferry too so I lowered a lot the use of airlines, thanks to seatsixtyone

The pattern seems to be very small numbers of protestors stopping essential services and traffic while the police stand by respectfully and just observe. What times we live in.

Very simple, it’s Due to high cost for garbage service with old small Airplanes for long distances. Same as KLM .

Not only do ppl want to fly, ppl have to fly. Really Greta, try the boat from Somewhere in ghe EU to NYC, or spend your precious vac days on the train from frankfort to barcelona, and back!?!

Vielleicht weil die meisten Urlaubs-Flüge (also da wo ein Gerat-Effekt erwartbar ist) ein halbes Jahr im Vorraus gebucht werden?
