Dissatisfaction concerning Walt Disney World centered primarily on rising prices and cash grabs, according to a Time2Play poll.
"I understand inflation and all of those things. I understand cost increases," Kentucky father Matt Day reportedly said earlier this year."I always had the impression that Disney was a family vacation destination, and that impression is why I was surprised to see how expensive it truly was — and how out of reach it is for most American families."
As of Monday morning, a standard one-park Disney World ticket through October costs about an average of $137 per day, with prices reaching as high as $154, according to the theme park’s website.
Something that isn't talked about much is how WDW is losing the support of locals, particularly those who live in the immediate surrounding neighborhoods. There used to be a sort of symbiosis between the two that no longer exists.
Disney was expensive prior to Chapek. Now it's just stupid. Quality of products and service are down and prices are up. No annual passes, no meal plans, everything is geared to squeeze every dime from patrons who are already paying a premium.
