Playhouse 1960 presents Emma! A Pop Musical, with performances May 14-15. Tickets start at $10.
Based on the Jane Austen novel, Emma! is set in a modern high school and features music from groups like The Supremes and Katy Perry. Performances are at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday May 14 and at 3 p.m. on Sunday May 15.Tribute band Forever Motown will perform at 8 p.m. on May 14 at The Centrum in Spring. Tickets start at $35.
The band performs Motown hits like “My Girl,” “I Heard it Through the Grapevine,” “Ain’t Nothing Like the Real Thing” and “Uptight” from artists including The Four Tops, The Temptations, The Supremes, Smokey Robinson, Tammi Terrell and Marvin Gaye. The concert is presented by the Cypress Creek Foundation for the Arts and Community Enrichment and is part of its Star-Lit! series.West Houston Area Genealogy Society presents one of its largest events, the Beginner’s Genealogy Workshop from 9 a.m.
The event is an all-encompassing primer of information about getting started on your family search process. Knowledgeable presenters will speak and demonstrate how to start your search, what software to use, how to trace your DNA and more.
