Logan Stieber, who became just the fourth wrestler in NCAA history to win four national championships by winning four straight national titles in his weight class in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015, wasHe’s the first wrestler from Ohio State to be named a distinguished member of the Hall of Fame.
Stieber’s worthiness of the honor is undeniable, as he is one of the most accomplished wrestlers in NCAA history. In addition to his four individual national championships, Stieber led Ohio State to a team national title in 2015, when he also won the Dan Hodge Trophy . In four seasons wrestling for the Buckeyes, Stieber won 119 of his 122 matches – good for the highest winning percentage in Ohio State history – while recording 50 falls, 28 technical falls and 18 major decisions.
After college, Stieber won the world men’s freestyle wrestling championship in the 61-kg weight class in 2016. He returned to the world championships in 2017 and 2018, helping the United States win the team title in 2018, before retiring from competition to start his coaching career. Stieber has been an assistant coach for Ohio State since 2021.
Stieber will be officially inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame during its 47th Honors Weekend on May 31 and June 1, 2024, in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
