The National Weather Service in League City warned of severe weather in the Houston area on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2023.advises drivers to slow down, avoid distractions, allot extra travel time and increase following distance. There is a high risk of rip current all day along the coast, and minor coastal flooding is possible, particularly during high tides. A gale warning has been issued for the bays and coastal waters lasting until late Tuesday. The warning signifies winds of “gale force” on the Beaufort scale, these are very strong winds.The storms are expected to move out overnight Tuesday into Wednesday and The rain is expected to gradually clear up.
The rest of the week is anticipated to be dry and sunny. High temperatures are forecasted to be in the mid-50s Wednesday and Thursday, with the high reaching 60 degrees Friday.
