Live Updates: Alabama Baseball vs. LSU (Game 1)

The Alabama Crimson Tide baseball team kicks off its last regular-season home series of the year against the LSU Tigers on Friday evening.

Both teams are coming off midweek wins. The Crimson Tide beat the No. 21 Troy Trojans 7-6 in a road matchup, while the Tigers won a home game against Northwestern State 6-5. In the SEC standings, Alabama is No. 4 in the West and No. 9 overall, however the Tigers are narrowly behind at No. 5 in the West and No. 11 overall. With two weekends left of regular season play, both programs are looking to keep their Hoover chances alive.

Left-handed pitcher Greg Farone will start on the mound for the Crimson Tide. In his 55.1 innings pitched, the senior has allowed 52 hits, 25 runs , walked 18 batters, and struck out 57. For the Tigers, left-handed pitcher Gage Jump will start on the mound. The sophomore will make his 12th start of the season. So far this year, Jump has allowed 41 hits, 25 runs , walked 16 batters, and struck out 67 in 55 innings of work.Kim Rankin is a 2020 graduate of the University of Alabama.
