Live blog: Israel killed 500+ Gaza medics since Oct 7 — health authorities

Israel's aggression on besieged Gaza, now in its 220th day, has killed at least 35,034 people — 70 percent of them babies, children and women — and wounded over 78,755.Rescuers and medics search for dead bodies inside the damaged al-Shifa Hospital after Israeli forces withdrew from the hospital and the area around it following a two-week assault.

“They fulfilled their professional oath in a year where records were broken in terms of the amount of treatment provided under circumstances where the medical personnel were martyred, injured, displaced in tents or detained in Israeli racist prisons, with the number of medical personnel reaching 500 martyrs, 1,500 wounded and 312 detainees,” he added.

He emphasised that Israel has not yet presented a credible plan to protect the city’s nearly 1.5 million Palestinian inhabitants and warned that an Israeli offensive could foster an insurgency by failing to eliminate all the Hamas forces there. They gathered at Binnenrotte Square in Rotterdam under the banner"Mothers against Genocide," marching through the city centre and assembling in front of the Mother and Child statue carrying baby dolls wrapped in bloody shrouds.
