Thank you to the wealthy and influential citizens of Dallas who signed a full-page open letter to Sen. John Cornyn about commonsense gun control. As a constituent, I have written to Cornyn, Gov. Greg Abbott, Sen. Ted Cruz and U.S. Rep. Lance Gooden, and begged them to represent the interests of their constituency about guns and other matters.
I know I cannot expect any of you to support Beto O’Rourke. But please, please, at least when it comes to protecting your fellow Texans against military-style weapons, make the Republicans listen to you. On this occasion, then, I thank everyone whose patronage and expertise supports this priceless Dallas institution.
