✉️ Letters to the Editor — Faith, John Creuzot, high gas bills, Ken Paxton, Russia

I am a cradle Catholic, attended Catholic schools for 12 years and am pro-life. Although abortion is a preeminent concern, my faith tells me that I do not have to be a one-issue voter, but rather I should examine my conscience to decide which candidate focuses on establishing and maintaining the common good, e.g., help for the poor, the hungry, the sick, the mentally and physically disabled, the homeless, etc. I believe in fairness and social justice for all regardless of race or religion.

Our great city is in dire need of a new district attorney who enforces the law whether someone steals $700 worth of merchandise or $5,000. When I called I was told the “customer charge,” whatever that might be, went from $6.53 to $15 and the rate per centum cubic feet went from about 46 cents to about 99 cents. It changed without any notification to the public.

With the Munich Agreement , the Sudetenland was ceded to Germany. British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain stated that this accord ensured “peace in our time.” Alas, the appeasement yielded only further territorial expansion and acquisition. Was it not terrible enough that Germany attempted to destroy the Jews? Now Germany is willing to let Russia destroy the Ukrainian people. As a preventive medicine specialist, I am happy to see people walking and bicycling in the street. Adults parading up and down with baby carriages, children and dogs is wholesome and healthy.
