Leslie Jones promises to be herself hosting 'The Daily Show'

FILE - Leslie Jones appears at the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles on Sept. 17, 2018. Jones will be taking a temporary whirl as host of “The Daily Show” on Comedy Central on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

“I’m not Jon Stewart. I’m not Trevor Noah, I’m Leslie Jones. So I’ll be bringing that vulnerable honesty,” the “Saturday Night Live” alum joked in an interview on the eve of her new gig.

That's a stretch.

Give her a chance. Changing hosts is always a dangerous game when it all rests on one person's shoulders. The risk is that if it doesn't work out once or twice it can kill the show.

Good for her, but I think the show should retire; CC is never going to recapture what they had when Jon hosted the show. It's not a knock on Trevor or Leslie at all, Jon just seems more proactively involved/interested/informed in politics than the average celebrity/host.
