A temporary fix to a sinkhole caused by a leaking water main has blocked off a section of Commonwealth Avenue near a crosswalk behind the Pennsylvania Capitol. were told to move the motorcycles parked in that section of the street out of safety concerns related to the sinkhole. Thompson said the issue stemmed from a leaking water main pipe that is the property of Capitol Region Water. Capitol Police closed a section of Commonwealth Avenue on Tuesday when the water company came to install a temporary fix. He said a more permanent repair will be made when the necessary parts arrive within the next two weeks.
