were told to move the motorcycles parked in that section of the street out of safety concerns related to the sinkhole. Thompson said the issue stemmed from a leaking water main pipe that is the property of Capitol Region Water. Capitol Police closed a section of Commonwealth Avenue on Tuesday when the water company came to install a temporary fix. He said a more permanent repair will be made when the necessary parts arrive within the next two weeks.
