Stacy Langton, a Fairfax County mother, filed the lawsuit against Harry Jackson, a candidate for the Fairfax County school board. Langton made headlines in 2021 after she read portions of a book in her child's school library that contained sexually explicit content at a school board meeting.
"The false and defamatory claim that Plaintiff has performed in pornography is especially and uniquely harmful to Plaintiff, as her reputation has been built on her efforts to combat the availability of pornographic and sexually explicit materials in public school libraries," the lawsuit says. In August 2022, Jackson made local headlines after he was caught on video laughing at an autistic child who sang the national anthem at a school board meeting. He later apologized, saying he did not intend to cause any offense. The incident took place shortly after he launched his campaign for school board.
He ripped the lawsuit as a means for Langton to attain media attention, seek revenge, and aid his electoral opponent.
