'Watching that makes you wonder how people whose job is to serve and protect, let alone being humans in general — how could they treat someone like that?' said Representative Earl Harris Jr..

INDIANAPOLIS — In Indiana and across the country, there are renewed calls for police reform in the wake of the death of Tyre Nichols.

"Watching that makes you wonder how people whose job is to serve and protect, let alone being humans in general — how could they treat someone like that?" said Harris. That law prompted another bill this year that provides parameters for mental health situations. The bill is scheduled for its third reading in the House this week.

"We want this on this side, regarding mental health, etc. But on the other side, we'll do some things that'll cause you to say, now, how is that going to match and work," said Greene."We all want the same thing, and that is to be safe. We want Indianapolis to be a safe city. We want our police officers to go home to their families. We want bad people to be in jail, but we also want someone who does not merit dying over something ending up dead," said Greene.

Police officers: 1% actually, truly, honestly want to help people... 50% are ex-military who still have the mentality of 'civilian pukes' & treat the public as such 49% are dude-bro that peaked in high school & are really angry... so they get their God complex on over the public

Theory: Black men are used to being abused by police. Did this brutal background lead to their own brutal behavior against other black men as sort of an involuntary reaction?

Tyre Nichols live updates: SCORPION Unit 'permanently deactivated' after Nichols' deathThe Memphis Police Department has deactivated its SCORPION Unit, the task force at the center of Tyre Nichols' death, the department said. Sounds like they understand that abolishing police works when they are all rotten to the core White men you better pay attention if you own a business in this country, cities will only be trampled when filthy white cops beat a man to death or a conservative president is elected. This proves it, better wake up, never rest. Interesting, task force which committed heinous crime of murder. All taking part in killing one man.

Tyre Nichols’s family attorneys question white officer’s discipline after Nichols’s deathThe other five officers, who are all Black, have been fired and charged with second-degree murder among other offenses, which has raised more questions for the department about their transparency and alludes to the possible racial dynamics in this case. Is Hemphill transgender? Asking for a friend. Culture is a big part of the problem. If you just point the finger at the police, then you are half wrong. From my experience, many young people and especially black males have a hard time complying with police, who are human. If someone doesnt listen to you, then what do you do?

Indiana reacts to graphic video of Tyre Nichols beatingAcross Indiana, law enforcement organizations and others reacted after watching the graphic video. Here's what they had to say on Twitter. You can't reform law enforcement. Throwing more money at a city's most highly paid employees (average starting salary is $65k) isn't going to stop them from acting like gangs.

Tyre Nichols case reignites conversations among lawmakers on federal police legislation“We’ll look at what we think makes sense to help this,” Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, chair of the House Judiciary Committee, said. “To make sure they have the proper training, but no amount of training is going to change what we saw in that video.” Jim Jordan What did Nichols do to get 5 cops after him and beat him? I don't think Nichols was coming from Bible studying group at church. He instigated it by doing something illegal.

Lawmakers denounce police in Tyre Nichols' death but split on potential for new police lawsBipartisan outrage has continued following the release of graphic footage of police officers beating Tyre Nichols after a traffic stop in Memphis, Tennessee, earlier this month — with lawmakers saying such a brutal reaction was 'unconscionable.' Hate this keeps happening. But i feel it's time also to shed light on the black men who are incarcerated and being tortured and killed by the same type of agencies especially in Alabama but no one considers that after you service the PD you have to survive DOC officers! This lawyer must be a billionaire by now. Sure hope he donates to the community Why now? What about those hundreds of other instances?
