The 27,171 members of United Teachers Los Angeles who cast ballots between Tuesday and Thursday 94.13% voted to ratify the three-year agreement reached April 18, union president Cecily Myart-Cruz announced Friday., the agreement includes a 21% wage hike, beginning with 3% effective July 1, 2022; 4% on Jan. 1, 2023; 3% on July 1, 2023; 4% on Jan. 1, 2024; 3% on July 1, 2024; and 4% on Jan. 1, 2025.
When the agreement was announced, the district noted that the increases were on top of 5% hikes included in the 2021-22 district budget. UTLA negotiators had been pushing for a 20% across-the-board wage hike during their labor talks with the district.
