LAKE HUGHES, Calif. -- Two children are dead after an apparent drowning Monday night in the Lake Hughes area.A boy and a girl, described as being 4 and 3 years old, respectively, were rushed to the hospital by helicopter ambulance, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
The young boy was pronounced dead shortly after, and on Tuesday morning, authorities said the girl did not survive. According to officials, the incident happened just before 7 p.m. in the 43000 block of Lake Hughes Road. It's was not clear whether the two children were alone or with someone else at the time of the incident, but officials say it appears to be accidental.Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to call the L.A. County Sheriff's Department at 890-5500. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous can dial Crime Stoppers at 222-8477.
