At a roundabout at Colorado 402 a pursuing deputy stopped the fleeing vehicle using a PIT maneuver, bumping it with a patrol vehicle, the release said.
A man armed with a knife got out of the vehicle and approached deputies, disregarding orders to stop, the sheriff’s office said. A deputy shot the man and he was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. No deputies were injured. The police shooting is being investigated by the 8th Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team, a multi law enforcement unit lead by the Loveland Police Department.
