A mansion built by an influential Black entrepreneur poised to become a place to celebrate Robbins history.

Tyrone Haymore, director of the Robbins History Museum, stands across the street from the S.B. Fuller Mansion on Kedzie Avenue in Robbins, which he hopes to restore for the new of home of the museum.

“I found out these were wealthy Black people who built this house, so I knocked on the door,” he said. “Whenever she bought something, if it was peanuts, she’d buy 10 or 20 bags of peanuts,” he said. “I got to be a regular there.” People peer into the living room of the S.B. Fuller mansion during a Black history tour in 1997, when the home in Robbins was still occupied. The mansion was abandoned in the 2000s and eventually donated to the Robbins History Museum.“It’s in pretty bad shape,” he said. “I think that’s why they gave it to me. Nobody wanted it anymore because it had been vandalized so badly.

“There’d been three owners since the original owners, and nobody had been able to do anything with it, including the Fuller family themselves.”Haymore had become interested in Robbins history as a young man after he learned the village was once home to an airport where Black pilots could train and fly unburdened by racist policies prevalent at other facilities.

As time went by, it became obvious the Robbins History Museum had outgrown its current home, and when the Fuller Mansion offer came in 2015, despite his reservations, Haymore accepted.

Why you want to make this as if the police intentionally killed him? He had a gun and got up with it when the police shot him. Watch the video before you believe this media. Who the hell will go to sleep with a gun on him? Why did he had the gun when the police got there? They love to kill blacks!
