Following the news of his passing, Lance Reddick's wife Stephanie has released an emotional statement responding to the actor's death. Having made his on-screen acting debut in the late '90s, Reddick quickly found stardom for his performances in the HBO crime drama The Wire and prison drama Oz, as well as the Fox sci-fi thriller Fringe.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY This week brought the sad news that, after a celebrated 40-year career, Lance Reddick died at the age of 60, and now, his wife Stephanie has taken to Twitter to address the loss. Stephanie Reddick offered a deeply emotional statement, as seen above, in which she expressed that the actor was "taken from us too soon" and expressing her gratitude towards the outpour of love, including Destiny players. Reddick also encouraged followers to honor his memory by donating to the Baltimore-based MOMCares, which provides support for Black mothers, including healing tools, emotional support, and childcare, among other services.
A number of Reddick's prior collaborators took to social media to express their grief for Reddick's passing, including The Game Awards host Geoff Keighley, The Wire creator David Simon and co-stars Wendell Pierce and Isiah Whitlock Jr., and Oz and Fringe co-star Kirk Acevedo. Reeves and director Chad Stahelski have also announced they will be dedicating John Wick: Chapter 4 in his memory and sending their "love and prayers" to his wife Stephanie and their children.
While rarely the leading man in his projects, Lance Reddick brought plenty of charisma and power to his wide array of projects across multiple mediums. Though his death leaves a large hole in the acting sphere of Hollywood, those who have enjoyed the actor's works can look forward to honoring his memory with the remaining releases he has in the near future.
