On Monday, December snow totals at the UC Berkeley Central Sierra Snow Lab reached 193.7 inches, blowing a 1970 record of 179 inches out of the water.
The lab was built in 1946 by the U.S. Weather Bureau and Army Corps of Engineers and maintains one of the longest-running manual snow depth records in the world, dating back to 1879. Snow continued to make travel nearly impossible over mountain passes on Dec. 26, 2021, a day after a Christmas storm left more than 7 feet of snow in some locations. It's nice but its still not enough to quell SO CA's revenging THIRST & inability to conserve & preserve water. Instead the focus is on 'FLOOD CONTROL', watch in horror every time we get significant rain which is not that often as it flows to the OCEAN. PATHETIC!

Bay Area visitors stranded in Tahoe amid massive snowstorm'There are worse places to be stuck.' My neighbors didn't go to their 'cabin' for Christmas because there was ample warning of the amount of snow that was possible. So are the people 'stuck' now stuck on purpose? Especially if you are in your car with cold kids. . . . who writes this bs. It was clear last week that this storm was going to be big and dump tons of snow. Anyone who is “stuck” was irresponsible, especially a surgeon with patients relying on them. This wasn’t a surprise storm.
