After a 25-year run, Lake Forest’s Wildlife Discovery Center is set to close in the months ahead, with some residents disappointed the city did not find a way to keep it going.

“We are just trying to find the best use for that space,” she said.

Carmichael said the center has about 350 animals, far more than the two snakes and a lizard he started out with in 1998.
