Lack Of Player Development Part Of Nick Nurse Leaving Toronto - RealGM Wiretap

The Toronto Raptors used to be known for their player development under Nick Nurse. That reputation has faded some in recent seasons, and it was part of Nurse and the Raptors parting ways following this past regular season.

Toronto's front office took issue with Nurse's inability to develop players drafted in the back portion of the first round and in the second round. Players like Malachi Flynn and Dalano Banton were unable to land rotation roles, and that led to Nurse playing his starters the most minutes in the NBA. New Raptors coach Darko Rajakovic is known for his player development skills. As Toronto looks towards resetting their roster, player development will be key. The Raptors believe that Rajakovic is the guy to help push things forward in that area.
