Supply of available workers is headed in wrong direction as Federal Reserve strives to cool labor market and bring down high inflation

Amid a record hiring streak in the U.S., economists are watching for signs of a possible wave turn. WSJ’s Anna Hirtenstein looks at how rising interest rates, high inflation, market selloffs and recession risks challenge the growth of America’s workforce. Economists think so too. Many of them see the imbalance in labor supply and demand as at the heart of the U.S.’s current economic challenges. They say that fixing it is critical

US: Claims for unemployment insurance are at historic highs. If they do not urgently synchronize supply with demand they will have a problem and the current employment strength will become weak.🧐

There is no labor shortage. There is a shortage of sustainable jobs that pay a mortgage or city rent. Business owners love to say, 'where are the skills' so they can scale down their work force as the economy slows. Owners vehemently do not want to hire.

THIS is the challenge. I don't know where all the workers went, but since the economy re-opened, there aren't enough of them.
