L.A. County supervisors say the county has made enough progress in dealing with the coronavirus that they will ask the state to allow more establishments to begin reopening.

Los Angeles County officials said Tuesday they will ask the state to allow a speedier reopening of restaurants in the county offering in-person dining and other businesses shuttered by the coronavirus outbreak.

At least two supervisors had initially opposed seeking a variance, Barger said, but when Ferrer presented the new data, “that solved the problem right there.” An updated county health order will allow community pools, drive-in theaters and flea markets to reopen because they are already allowed to operate under state rules, Barger said.

If approved, the variance plan might be implemented differently within the city of L.A., as the city could choose to implement stricter rules than the county’s health order if Mayor Eric Garcetti felt it was unsafe for L.A. to reopen as much as other parts of the county, Barger said.

Noooooah ! Not quite yet! Four more weeks!

LA county's reopening measures come as the state reported the county's jobless rate soared to 19.6% last month, and it shed 691,300 jobs in just a month

This seems ill advised.

Caving. Unbelievable. StayHome

1800 new cases TODAY!!

Can I teleport to LA to slap these two women? I'm so afraid for my loved ones and for people I don't know. This is why I left, shit like this. I feel so torn sometimes. Like when you hate your brother but also love him.

This is what giving in to Trump looks like. Trump issued a letter to Mayor Garcetti and now Garcetti has caved in. He stands at the podium tonight saying no politics involved. He doesn't care what the people who want to be safer think.

Great announcements on LA’s largest single day case growth.

LA needs to remain in permanent lockdown.

hello all the very best to all

This is what giving up looks like. It’s fine if they didn’t want to shutdown to begin with, but they are the ones who made that choice and put parameters on it and now it’s too hard to meet those parameters so they are giving up. Wasted the last 2 1/2 months fiddling.
