It took nearly 11 months for L.A. County to top 500,000 coronavirus cases, and one month to double that massive number.

Coronavirus cases have surged in Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties, where demand for ICU beds could overwhelm the region’s supply. Some L.A. County residents should wear masks at home to slow virus spread, officials say

Though the number of COVID-19 patients hospitalized countywide has stabilized recently, at just shy of 8,000, the sustained increase has forced some county hospitals toand keep some patients waiting in ambulances for hours. “We’re watching the data very carefully over the next couple of days, as this is the time when we would anticipate beginning to see the surge in patients from the recent Christmas and New Year’s holidays,” she said.State officials, however, struck a more optimistic tone Monday, saying that while the ramifications of recent travel and gatherings have yet to be fully realized, it appears that the post-holiday surge may not be as severe as expected.

LA County Fire Department COVID cases dramatically decrease after 75% get vaccinatedThe Los Angeles County Fire Department has seen a dramatic decrease in its COVID-19 positivity rate since firefighters started getting vaccinated during the last week of December. Approximately 75% of the county’s firefighters, over 3000 people, have received their first dose of the vaccine. In December their COVID-19 positivity rate was 18%. A virus as deadly as COVID, a serious issue with cities not having enough of the vaccination, no one not knowing how the vaccination is affecting people are all a means to say I don't believe this article. STOP.
