But credit also is due to the moderator, who has the dicey assignment of knowing when to let the candidates talk and to know when to interrupt. Welker did that, and sometimes in subtle ways. When Trump said that migrant kids separated from their parents were “so well taken care of,” she interjected, “But some of them have not been reunited with their families.”. A consummate pro on a big and difficult stage.
I’m sorry I felt like all they did was talk about whatever they wanted to talk about and there was no control on her part to stick to the questions -they were supposed to move in rapid succession...

Chris Wallace should take some lessons. She didn't even have to use the mute button once. That's called knowing how to moderate.
I thought she did an amazing job. Obviously someone in his admin had told Trump to toe the line and not lose it like last time, but she stopped him in his tracks a few times.

She was terrific.....could have used the mute button more on Trump if she wanted but even he can’t complain about the debate being “UNFAIR, BIASED, DISGRACEFUL....WAHHH WAHHH WAHHH”. He was just beaten fair and square and he knows it too.
