Keon Ellis News

The former Alabama guard had a breakthrough NBA season with Sacramento.

Sacramento Kings guard Keon Ellis gets to the basket during an NBA game against the New Orleans Pelicans on April 11, 2024, at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, Calif.standout started the final 15 games of the regular season and Sacramento’s two games in the NBA play-in tournament.. “I mean, it’s crazy. Obviously, I think a lot of two-way players, they’re playing to get converted. For that to happen and then way more, it’s just been wild.

This season, Ellis didn’t make a single trip down to Stockton while on the two-way contract. A player on a two-way contract could appear in a maximum of 50 games with the NBA team and earn a salary of $559,782 during the 2023-24 season. Ellis’ new contract will pay him $2.121 million in the 2024-25 season and contains a club option for the 2025-26 campaign that would pay him $2.302 million.

On March 18, Sacramento guard Kevin Huerter sustained a torn labrum, and Ellis entered the starting lineup. When guard Malik Monk suffered a sprained medial collateral ligament on March 29, Ellis’ role at the end of games increased, too.. “We had some guys step into some roles this year that got it done, and I was even curious as to whether or not they could handle the pressure and get it done. And the first one that comes to mind is young Keon.
