Auburn AD Allen Greene has first meeting with new president Chris Roberts about future of athletics department
The Penn State game is the first game on Auburn’s 2022 schedule to have a set kickoff time and television network announced. The Tigers open the season Sept. 3 at home against Mercer and then host San Jose State in Week 2 before welcoming Penn State to Jordan-Hare Stadium. The Nittany Lions’ trip to the Plains will cap a home-and-home series between the two programs. Penn State hosted Auburn at Beaver Stadium last September in the Tigers’ first-ever trip to University Park, Penn. The Nittany Lions won that matchup, 28-20, in their annual White Out game.
This year’s matchup will mark the fourth all-time between Auburn and Penn State, and it will be the first in the series played at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Penn State holds a 1-2 advantage in the all-time series, with the only two meetings prior to last season coming in bowl games -- the 1996 Outback Bowl in Tampa, Fla., and the 2003 Capital One Bowl in Orlando, Fla.Note to readers: if you purchase something through one of our affiliate links we may earn a commission.
