KFC to sell Beyond Meat's plant-based 'fried chicken' in the southern U.S.

CHICAGO - Beyond Meat said on Wednesday it will supply plant-based “fried chicken” to several KFC stores in Tennessee and North Carolina, after a test conducted last year showed strong consumer demand.

The product is 80 calories per piece and looks a bit like a fried chicken nugget, with a sinewy texture designed to feel like chicken. It will be available next month in dozens of stores in and around Nashville, Tennessee, and Charlotte, North Carolina, the companies said. Creating a muscle-like, fibrous texture is very important when imitating chicken, because that’s what people have come to expect when they bite into a piece of meat, Beyond Meat Chief Executive Ethan Brown said in an interview.

Better be frying it a separate fryer or you'll be being sued vegans will lose their minds over it if ya don't and say it vegan . Personally I wouldn't touch the stuff with a ten foot poll.

Will they be GF glutenfree kfc yumbrands ? DF dairyfree nowhere near enough gluten free options in restaurants, especially fast food. Safe food for this of us that can’t eat it, without cross contamination, would be GREAT!!
