The 1984 film celebrated its 40th anniversary this year and inspired students and community members to start a "Bacon to Payson" campaign to get Ren McCormack back to the school one last time. The high school, which served as a primary setting "Footloose," is set to be torn down in the spring of 2025.BaconToPayson campaign gives students memorable experience amid looming demolitionIn their efforts to get Bacon back, the school partnered with the Utah Film Commission; "Footloose" was filmed mainly in Utah County.— the day of Payson High School's prom — noting that the trip was in support of his foundation, Sixdegrees.

The foundation is putting together 40,000 essential resource kits for communities and organizations in need."The student body has worked so hard and put so much work into getting him to come that, I hope they get to feel excited about that and have a good time and have a good prom to end their school year," said Jason Binks, a "Footloose" fan.
