We chatted with AEW megastar and video game expert KennyOmegamanX about his upcoming appearance in LikeaDragonIshin, his history with Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio games, and much more:

Like A Dragon: Ishin! will bring Trooper Cards into its regular gameplay, and many of them bear the likeness of famous real-life fans of the franchise. While the original 2014 release of Like A Dragon: Ishin! - which was never available outside of Japan - used a similar mechanic, it was only a part of the special Battle Dungeon mode. Wrestler Kenny Omega is slated to appear on one of the in-game Trooper Cards, which is inspired by his own wrestling persona.

And then when I played the game for myself, I thought, "Wow, this is really the wave of the future. This is going to be a series that's going to be around for a long time." And here we are, it's still going strong. In fact, I feel like it's getting stronger as the entries are released. So yeah, I've played almost every single game that's come out, aside from the Japan exclusives. And you know, Ishin is actually kind of being able to correct one of those.

Yeah, it's really cool how they worked in your finishing move reference, which is in itself a video game reference. And even in the Trooper Card's description it mentions summoning the stars, which sounds perhaps reminiscent of your former partner, the Golden Star Kota Ibushi. Not sure if there's any tie-in there on purpose.

Yeah, and your move sounds really cool and powerful, it has to be exciting for you to have such a strong move. Related: Yakuza: Like A Dragon's Worst Character Creates A Narrative Problem
