According to the lawsuit, Meyer was deeply perturbed by a possible disciplinary action she was facing.

According to the lawsuit, Meyer, 21, was deeply perturbed by an email she received from Stanford’s Office of Community Standards regarding a possible disciplinary action she was facing. In August 2021, Meyer allegedly spilled coffee on a Stanford football player who was accused of sexually assaulting one of her teammates on the soccer team. The coffee incident was reported to the Office of Community Standards, which was reviewing the case, the lawsuit alleges.

“Stanford employees failed to support Katie when she expressed feelings of despair, she was ‘terrified an accident will destroy my future,’ and she had ‘been scared for months that my clumsiness will ruin my chances of leaving Stanford on a good note,’ and experiencing much ‘anxiety’ related to the OCS Process,” lawsuit says.

God bless her family. So she was riding her bike, with a coffee in hand, and it accidentally spilled on a football player who allegedly assaulted a female soccer player. Family of soccer star Katie Meyer files wrongful death lawsuit against Stanford University after she died by suicide | CNNThe family of Katie Meyer, a star soccer player who died by suicide last spring, has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Stanford University and several administrators alleging their actions surrounding a potential disciplinary action caused her 'to suffer an acute stress reaction that impulsively led to her suicide.' I don’t know who needs to hear this but quite literally the only person responsible for suicide is the individual who CHOSE to do it. Will you answer me! Sad what grief does making a family become greedy like this. Suicide was HER choice. Not stanfords fault she can’t handle consequences. Sad but that’s reality.
