The burgeoning actress has also managed to get into the entertainment business without casting directors making the connection between her and Winslet. "What's been really great for her is she has a different surname so that initial job out of the gate, she slipped right under the radar and the people who cast her had absolutely no idea that she was my daughter," Winslet said of Mia's leading role in the 2020 independent thriller,."And of course that was my biggest fear and most important for her self esteem, of course.

The show stars Kate Winslet as Mare (yes her name is Mare, no she’s not the mayor) an extremely rough-around-the-edges detective in small-town Pennsylvania who is trying to solve the murder of a local, can you guess... dead girl, ding ding ding! She is also aided by a county detective played brilliantly against type by Evan Peters, because Mare isn’t actually very good at her job.\n As a suburban Philly girl-I can say she NAILS the accent - Except!! The long o’s I love Wawa iced tea. Missed that particular club up here, complete madness I am told!
