Vampire movies are as old and legendary as the tales of vampires themselves. With that said, the new horror-comedy Slayers, which can currently be seen in theaters and on digital outlets, puts a very fresh coat of paint on the vampire genre in blending it with the online life. Kara Hayward joins the ensemble cast of Slayers as Flynn, one of the film's characters most readily prepared to battle the undead.
Kara Hayward: I liked the vision for the vampires in the script. It was a different kind of cooler, higher tech vampire than we've seen before. That was a really fun take, especially since our characters were influencers, which was kind of a fun little modernization of the vampire genre.
You were also working on Slayers during the early stages of the pandemic. How did that impact the making of Slayers from your perspective? Kara Hayward: Well, I think the point of the movie is about taking care of the people around and yourself, and being very cautious of things that seem too good to be true. I think some of the characters in the movie got a little greedy with some things that they shouldn't have.
