The Chiefs overcame a 24-point deficit by halftime, setting or tying numerous NFL playoff records along the way. Now they open as the favorite over the Tennessee Titans.

The Kansas City Chiefs fell behind early in a big way Sunday against the Houston Texans in the AFC Divisional round. The Chiefs mounted a crazy comeback and beat the visiting Texans, 51-31.

The Houston Texans waltzed out to a 21-0 lead over the Chiefs. The Texans took the opening kickoff and marched the field for a touchdown. After a three-and-out by Kansas City, the Texans blocked a Chiefs punt and returned it for a touchdown. The Chiefs later muffed a punt, which was recovered by the Texans inside the 10-yard line. Houston quickly scored to take a 21-0 lead, which caused silence in Arrowhead Stadium.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw four touchdowns in one quarter of a playoff game, tying a mark set by Washington's Doug WIlliams in 1988 during the second quarter of the Super BowlThe Chiefs became the first team to lead by four or more points at halftime after trailing by 24 pointsHouston had never scored 21 points during the first quarter of any of its 298 games in team historyAnd that's just the first half.

Mahomes finished with 321 yards and five touchdowns on 23-of-35 passing, and he was the team's leading rusher with 56 yards. Damien Williams had 12 carries for 47 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns for the Chiefs.
