Most of the border is with Texas. What kind of 'welcome' will they give to the immigrants? Once in the state the federal government have little control if what happens to them. Texas is anti-all! Anti: abortion, vaccine, mask, democracy, gun control, immigrants...

It's similar to his approvals of vast new offshore oil and gas drilling leases in the Gulf of Mexico. A betrayal to placate voters that will never vote for him.
