Judge rules Washington's ban on high-capacity magazines unconstitutional

by Barry Mangold, KATU StaffA Cowlitz County judge ruled Monday that Washington 's ban on selling firearm magazines larger than 10 rounds is unconstitutional and issued an injunction against the law. Shortly after, the commissioner of the state Supreme Court granted an emergency stay, keeping the law in place for now.

Attorney General and gubernatorial candidate Bob Ferguson called Bashor's ruling "incorrect" and asked the Washington Supreme Court to issue an emergency stay of the injunction. "Now, we'll be taking the arguments to the state Supreme Court, where I'm very confident they will allow this law to stand," Ferguson said.
