Following a week-long investigation, Amy Martinez, 43, has been arrested on charges of theft and embezzlement from the Jourdanton Volunteer Fire Department .
The investigation was initiated after JVFD officials filed a report with the Sheriff's Office on Friday, March 8, alleging the misappropriation of several thousand dollars.Martinez, in her capacity as treasurer, was found to have signed unauthorized checks totaling varying amounts from $300 to $6,000 between January 2020 and February 29, 2024.
In addition to Martinez, Dylan Ryan Luna, 21, was arrested in connection with the embezzlement scheme.
