Jordan Spieth follows his shot out of a bunker up to the third green of the Pebble Beach Golf Links during the final round of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am golf tournament in Pebble Beach, Calif., Sunday, Feb. 6, 2022.Jordan Spieth led late in the final round of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, but couldn’t seal the deal.

Tom Hoge bombed in a long birdie putt on the No. 17 hole to help seal the tournament win after finishing the day 4-under for a 68. He finished 19-under for the tournament. Spieth posted a 3-under in the final round on Sunday to finish second at 17-under and 270 overall.Hoge tapped in a birdie on the 16th hole. Then, on the 17th hole, Spieth hit a ball in the bunker and finished with a bogey. Hoge, meanwhile tapped in another birdie on 17, giving himself a two-shot lead heading to the final hole.

Spieth had an epic third-round performance on Saturday. Spieth went 9-under, his career-low round at Pebble Beach, to go from 10 strokes behind Seamus Power to one shot behind the leading trio of Beau Hossler, Andrew Putnam and Tom Hoge. But the biggest highlight of the third round came on the eighth hole for Spieth. His shot appeared destined to roll off the cliff. Instead, it rolled right up to the edge and stopped, setting up a terrifying shot for Spieth.

But the fear of the potentially long drop didn’t faze Spieth, who stepped right up to the ball, hit it toward the green and somehow finished with a par on the hole — all while not falling off the terrifyingly high cliff.
