: Yeah, I had tweeted a couple of weeks ago and asked if my followers could help me get in touch with her because I had seen her stuff previously and was interested in working with her. So, she messaged me back on Twitter, we got to chatting, and now we arevery big right now for K-pop, but I can’t say too much. I knew I wanted to work with her, not only because she’s a great songwriter, but also because we’re both Black and trying to be our own artists, while also creating K-pop music.
Everyone just wants to put you in a box and because I wanted this project, in particular, to be groovy and have a dance vibe, people around me were saying I couldn’t do it and I should stick to what I know. Just because I’m a Black artist, they expect me to either be a really good singer or a really good rapper, but I can’t be both in their eyes.: On the flip side, there are also a lot of rewarding aspects of being a Black creator.
