by Tokyo's Suginami Junior Chorus while a replica of the earth, made up of more than 1,800 drones, rotated in the sky overhead. After the children performed, the ceremony pivoted to feature pre-recorded video performances.
Each celebrity represented a different continent: John Legend stood for the Americas, and Keith Urban represented his home country, Australia. Spanish singer Alejandro Sanz represented Europe, while Afropop star Angélique Kidjo represented Africa. "Imagine" has been performed at several Olympic opening ceremonies in the past, most recently at the 2018 Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea. It was also played in the London 2012, Turin 2006 and Atlanta 1996 Games.
Would it kill Keith to wash his hair !!!
Should've let Gal Godot keep it 🙃
Love love the performance ❤️❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸
They left out the first verse Imagine there's no heaven It's easy if you try No hell below us Above us only sky Imagine all the people Living for today
Listen carefully to' Imagine' it exemplifies the chaos present in our society...not a comforting message at all.
Best part of the ceremony
I'm fairly certain there were two other artists too.....but you know who cares right?
They were not the only two Angelique Kidjo from Africa and Alejandro Sanz from Spain were the other two. Why you guys have to cut corner when putting out information. Shame, shame and shame.
John Legend is no John Lennon. He ruined it. Poor choice...he's a divider, not a unifier
They were so awesome!
Where's the Asian people?
It would have been nice if they had filmed a bit of the composer’s widow. She is from Japan, I believe.
Loved it. Perfect song for these times. Team USA🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
You know there were 2 other singers featured, don’t you?
