New Superman fan art imagines John Boyega soaring through the skies as the DCU's interpretation of Val Zod.

A new piece of Superman fan art imagines John Boyega as the DC Universe’s version of Val Zod. Created by Tom Taylor, Nicola Scott and Robson Rocha, Val Zod first made his comic book debut in the New 52’s Earth 2 comic series in 2014. One of the last Kryptonians of his universe, Val Zod was the second person to assume the mantle of Superman after Earth 2’s version of Kal-El died attempting to prevent an invasion from Apokolips. In July last year, news broke that Creed’s Michael B.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Now a new piece of fan art from digital artist Subi Özil has put forward another contender to assume the role as the DCU’s version Val Zod, namely Star Wars star John Boyega. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Subi Özil Showing Boyega’s Superman majestically taking the skies, the image depicts the actor in Val Zod’s trademark silver and blue costume. Meanwhile, his suit proudly displays the S symbol for the House of El, as once worn by his predecessor. What’s Happening With Michael B.

What is clear, however, is that the new DC Studios bosses are certainly not afraid of making tough decisions in order to help usher their own vision for the DCU’s future into reality. With the duo shooting down Patty Jenkins’ plans for Wonder Woman 3 and looking to recast Superman despite Henry Cavill’s recent return in Black Adam, no project should be presumed safe.

Of course, with Superman’s character reportedly taking center stage in the DCU’s future plans, Gunn and Safran may not wish to further confuse matters by also introducing an alternate Man of Steel into the mix right away. The duo’s decision to replace Cavill has already generated a great deal of fan backlash, and they may simply decide to play it safe with Kal El’s Superman during the rebooted franchise’s early days.

Get woke go broke.

Please stop switching race of characters that been around see how that going for the not needed indian velma

Boyega is a sell out and a clown. He starred in a film which was a complete bastardisation of history.A Film which made the worst black slave traders out to be hero's.

I prefer Michael B Jordan

That be one boring as movie lol 😂

Boyega is a decent choice, but people are sour on him bc of the the whole Star Wars mess. There's a lot of talk about Michael B. Jordan for Val Zod. I think he'd be good too. But the perfect guy for this was Jordan Calloway. Too bad they already pitched him for Black Lightning.

🫣

Now that's how we get an original black superman without race swapping Kal-El.

Let's just stop using white people for anything. So unoriginal.

No.

Keep on imagining lol. Hopefully it will turn out better. Lol

Omg yesssss!!!!

No lol

Nah too …

Honestly? Another decade or so, and I think he'd be great for the role. He just feels too young right now, which admittedly is weird for me to say considering that he is older than I am.

He sucks.

I don’t want to listen to anymore of his screaming

Don’t care if there’s black superman. Just not him. Please pick someone better

He ain't trying to do any franchise like this afterthat star wars bs yall stans are too much, plus yall never really show up at the box office. Black Adam and so many more DC films prove that

Loooool
