Joe Biden Proposes $1 Trillion in New Corporate Taxes

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden proposed nearly $1 trillion in new corporate taxes on Wednesday as he sought to generate more revenue to pay for his policy plans on health care, climate, infrastructure and education.

One of his new taxes would go after companies such as Amazon.com Inc. that have years when they report profits to investors but show little or no U.S. tax costs. A second would double the minimum tax rate on overseas income of U.S.-based multinationals.

About time .. so what did the corporations do with their tax cuts? More spending in R&D -no .. More spending on Capex - no ... more spending on training folks - no.. a one time bonus here and there a meager 3% increases in wages. They did spend a lot of money on stock buybacks...

The solution is to tax all income as income. No breaks for dividends, interest or capital gains. Then there is no incentive to sit on money instead of investing it in new projects and the top tax rate could actually be lower.

Odd that we are educated that Trumps' tariffs are actually paid by customers of the businesses, but Democrat corporate tax hikes do not cause customers to pay more even though they are both a government imposed expense on the business.
