Former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden has defended himself against allegations of inappropriate behavior. on Friday in which she claimed that former Vice President Joe Biden touched her inappropriately, smelled her hair and kissed her on the back of head during a Democratic campaign rally in 2014. Flores's accusations and Biden’s response, that he never intended to offend Flores, have reignited debates on issues surrounding intent, interpretation and confronting power.
Biden went on to say he would listen and continue to advocate for women’s rights. In other words, Biden is in denial and seems to have learned absolutely nothing from this experience. In fact, he says he never acted inappropriately, in his whole 76 years of life. Biden's response shows little empathy. It shows little understanding that although his intent was benevolent, his actions may have been interpreted as offensive. As a feminist, here’s what I would have liked to hear Biden say.
I get that Biden didn’t mean any harm. He was the vice president of the United States, one of the most powerful people in the world, so nobody probably ever had the guts to tell him to get his hands off. Whoopi Goldberg questioned on thethis morning why Flores just didn’t tell Biden, ‘You know what, I don’t really like this,’ or ‘Mr. Vice President, I’m not really comfortable with this.
We can learn that hypersensitivity doesn't pay. In fact, it hurts the people who have really been harmed as the result of true inappropriate touching!

Good politicians on both side are turned away because they don't want to put up with this kind of bullshit. And the only people that run are either people who've been attacked for decades, the naive or pure power hungry narcissists. And the public stupidly acts surprised by it
