Jim Beam plans to ramp up bourbon production at its largest Kentucky distillery.

Shelves display bottles of bourbons for sale at a Pennsylvania fine wine and spirits store, Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, in Harmony, Pa. Jim Beam plans to ramp up bourbon production at its largest Kentucky distillery to meet growing global demand in a more than $400 million expansion to be powered by renewable energy. The project will increase capacity by 50% at the Beam plant in Boston, Kentucky, while reducing greenhouse gas emissions by the same percentage, Beam Suntory said Wednesday, Sept. 14.

Mixing renewable energy into crafting whiskey, Beam will use a process that produces renewable natural gas to power the plant, the company said. Once the project is completed, expected to be in 2024, the distillery will be 65% powered by renewable natural gas and 35% by fossil-based natural gas, the company said.

Beam Suntory, whose products include Kentucky-crafted Maker’s Mark, said last year it wants to cut its companywide greenhouse gas emissions and water usage in half by 2030. The company’s more ambitious goal is to remove more carbon than is emitted from its operations and among its supplier base by 2040. The spirits giant also is committed to planting 500,000 trees annually by 2030, with a goal of planting more trees than are use to make barrels to hold its aging whiskeys.

Ryan Day, Jim Knowles Confident Denzel Burke Will Bounce Back After Shaky Start to SeasonDenzel Burke’s first two games of the 2022 season haven’t lived up to expectations, but Ryan Day and Jim Knowles remain confident in the sophomore cornerback. Has been the biggest thing I've notice is his struggles. Playing lost and lacking confidence in his feet. Holding, not looking for ball. Completely opposite from last year. New defense scheme has him not trusting his skills. Good only way he’ll gain confidence is if the coaches have confidence in him If we are worried about Denzel Burke than we have a top 5 defense

Jim Banks: Democrats to Stuff Stopgap Spending Bill with Radical PoliciesRepublican Study Committee (RSC) Chairman Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) said Democrats will seek to stuff radical policies in a stopgap spending bill before Republicans likely take the House after the midterms. Dems are just lovin' the power they think they have and will abuse it to their bitter end. If Democrats add just 2 more Democratic senators and hold the House, Roe v. Wade would become law again next year. Undo! Undo! Undo! Like Biden's stroke of the pen sending America into total destruction.... the difference is God's hand in destroying the enemies!
