Seasonal beach tag prices for Jersey Shore towns that charge have increased 20% since 2018.

While tides at the Jersey Shore rise and fall, the prices for accessing popular beaches have only moved in one direction in recent years - up.

Avalon’s beach tag fees have risen 43% for a season pass and 33% for a daily tag since 2018. Avalon’s season rate of $40 and $8 for a day pass, however, still rank among the lowest along the Jersey Shore. For season badge prices, we used the full price rate after pre-season discounts or lower amounts offered to veterans. For towns that have different prices for weekend and weekday daily badges, we used the more expensive of the two.
